Lancashire
  • Camelot Theme Park - Leyland
    Alongside all the rides Camelot has a medieval theme. There are daily shows with knights on horseback who will thrill you with their horsemanship, jousting prowess and swordmanship. With a few jesters, jugglers, fire eaters and trick riders thrown in for good measure this theme park is a little different from the rest.

    The white knuckle rides are high and fast. Plenty of action not just in the fun fair but in the surrounding town. The whole town is all about having fun. Spectacular at night during the Blackpool lights season 31st Aug - 4th Nov.

    Aimed mainly for younger children although there are some rides for older teenagers. Didn't notice any real white knuckle rides.


Yorkshire
  • Pleasure Island - Cleethorpes
    Claims to be the place for white knuckle thrills and has rides such as Pendulus, Boomerang, Hyperblaster, Alakazam and Terror rack.


  • Lightwater Valley - North Stainley, Ripon
    40 rides and attractions including big thrill rides and mini adventures for juniors. Includes the Lightwater Shopping Village and a Bird of Prey Centre.


  • Flamingo Land - Kirby Misperton, Malton
    A great selection of rides for all the family including Splash Battle and Splish Splash the new water ride and interactive water park. They had a small zoo previously but it seems to have been removed from the website. Perhaps the Zoo has gone?

  • Drayton Manor Park - Tamworth, Staffordshire
    Plenty of Thrill rides, family rides, rides for kids. One ride 'Apocalypse', The world's first stand-up tower drop was named as "Britain's scariest ride" by the Sunday Times. The park has a Small Zoo. Firework displays on 27th and 28th Oct.


  • West Midlands Safari & Leisure Park
    Combination of a Safari park and theme park. The park has over 30 rides for all age groups or more exactly 'heights'. Recently two more white lion cubs have been born at the park - always a sign of happy and healthy animals.


  • Fantasy Island - Ingoldmells, Skegness
    Fantasy Island is Britain's first themed indoor family resort and amusement park. It has a range of rides to suit the whole family. Admission is free, you pay using tokens.


  • Sundown Adventureland - Rampton, nr Retford, Nottinghamshire
    Sundown is specialy designed for the young families and is not suitable for teenagers. This is a place where fairy tales are brought to life.


  • Wicksteed Park - Kettering, Northamptonshire
    This theme park is for families with children upto the age of about 13/14. The park has a 30 acre lake with many water based amusements. The Arena and Fairground are where most of the rides are and it seems to be like a big playground. In the evenings there are musical variety shows.


  • Alton Towers - Stoke
    Extreme rides !!! and plenty of them. But if you are just the taxi service for the kids you can enjoy the beautiful parkland setting. It is possible to walk around the old ruins of the tower, take a cable car trip and enjoy the views or just stroll around the fantastic parkland, woods and lake.

  • Adventure Island - Southend-on-Sea
    Appears to be aimed at younger kids. Entrance to the park is free. If you want to go on the rides the price is based on height.


  • Thorpe Park - Chertsey, West London
    A big park with big rides. Can you handle a roller coaster in the dark? going backwards? going extremely fast? Lots of rides, some very scary.


  • Legoland - Windsor
    If you love Lego, you'll love this. Everything seems to be made of Lego. Miniature villages, people, art displays. Great inspiration for children who love to play with Lego.


  • Diggerland - Strood,Kent
    Young children can ride in trucks such as JCB's. The theme park has a team of stunt drivers who are so skilled they can make the trucks dance.


  • Fort Fun - Eastbourne, East Sussex
    Huge indoor soft play area for toddlers. The park is mainly for under 12's.


  • Harbour Park - Littlehampton, West Sussex
    An Amusement Park on the east bank of the River Arun and beside Littlehampton's golden, sandy beaches and seafront. Small park with a selection of rides for younger children, adventure golf, skating rink and amusement arcade.


  • Chessington World of Adventures
    This is a theme park and Zoo. The park has many areas such as Toy Town, Beanoland, Pirates Cove, Transylvania, Mystic East and Forbidden Kingdom. There are a number of white knuckle rides. Throughout the year there is a programme of special events such as Spurs Football coaching, Robin Hood, and Halloween.


  • Paultons Park - Romsey, Hampshire
    Offers over 50 different attractions and rides. The variety of things to see and do includes thrilling and gentle rides, dinosaurs, museums, animated shows, play areas, exotic birds and other fun activities for all ages in a garden setting.

  • Blackpool Tower

  • is a multi-activity indoor centre ideal for families. The tower houses a Circus, laser shows, Aquarium, Science gallery, dinosaur ride and a walk of faith across a clear glass floor 380ft off the ground. For adults there is ballroom dancing, cabaret music, Television and slot machines. For younger children there is an fantastic activity centre that hangs from the steel structure of the tower. Children can run wild along walkways, climb, jump, and fall onto padded surfaces high above your head. It is possible to spend hours within this complex. Often there are evening shows locally at the Winter Gardens and many other places. Nearby there is Blackpool Pleasure Beach Theme park, Sand Castle Indoor Water Park, Blackpool Zoo, and hundreds of other activities.

  • Awesome Walls - Liverpool

  • is an indoor climbing centre ideal for teenagers. The climbing centre is based in an old church that has been gutted. The Church tower, walls and crypt have been lined with hand holds and a stand-alone pinnacle created for climbing. The climber is roped to another person who feeds out the rope (belay's). If a person loses their grip and falls off the wall the weight of the other person prevents them from falling, they end up just swinging away from the wall. Instructors are available for guidance and equipment can be hired. Average cost including the hire of equipment is about £10. Young children often have birthday parties here and frequently return.

  • Brocklands Adventure Park - nr Bude
    Theme park for younger children. Includes a bowling alley, covered play area, steam railway and paddle boats.


  • Flambards Village - Helston
    The Theme Park boasts live entertainment from children's celebrities such as The Simpsons, Peter Pan and Snoopy, as well as all the thrilling rides, exhibitions and events. The Theme Park also includes: The Flambards Victorian Village, a full size reconstruction of a Victorian Village with 50 shops, traders and homes. Wales
  • Oakwood Park - Canaston Bridge, Narberth
    Lots of rides including a few roller coasters. One ride - ' Speed ' travels at 95kph for 2000ft of fast furious climbs, plunges, rolls, twists, turns and loops.

  • M & D's - Motherwell
    Scotland's Family Theme Park, spread over 20 acres in beautiful Strathclyde Country Park. Over 40 major rides and attractions. Free access to the massive indoor family complex. Home to Amazonia, an indoor tropical rainforest.

    Set in 500 acres of magnificent parkland with the imposing, historical castle as a stunning backdrop.
