Paintball is a sport where two teams armed with paint firing guns compete with each other to capture or defend a target zone. The target is usually a 'home base' or flag that needs to be captured. Often the Paintball Zone is in a wooded or forest area. Paintball combines teamwork, action and adventure, and is enjoyed by males and females, young and old alike. It's great fun to 'pepper' your friends with blobs of paint and often battles can start as early as the car park as high spirits kick in. Paintball action is a popular game for groups on birthday parties, stag days, hen days, football teams, youth clubs and corporate bonding and entertainment. Prices vary but an average of about £10 - £12 is common. Frequently discounts are available for large parties and organisers may get a free pass. Paintball guns, markers and other gear and equipment is usually provided by the organiser. Quasar As the popularity of Paintball has increased indoor variations are starting to appear. Quasar is mainly an indoor version of these war games were the teams are armed with laser guns. Quasar is usually cheaper than Paintball with average prices of about £5 per game. At the start of the game you energise your gun and this gives you a number of lives, depending on the game. When you are shot you lose a life. If you loose all of your lives you are told to return to the energiser where you will then get another number of lives. There is no limit to the number of times you can re-energise your gun in a game. The arena is full of places to hide, filled with smoke, noise and different coloured lights.
